Pronouns
PRONOUN - a word used in place of a noun or another pronoun.
Example: They like it. The underlined words are the pronouns.
ANTECEDENT - the word that a personal pronoun refers to.
Example Sentence: Kayla and Caleb like soccer. The underlined words are the antecedents for "They like it."
SUBJECT & OBJECT PRONOUN RULES:
Example: They like it. The underlined words are the pronouns.

SUBJECT & OBJECT PRONOUN RULES:
- Subject pronouns are used as the subject of the sentence. (She went to school.)
- Subject pronouns are used AFTER linking verbs. (This is she, the girl I was telling you about.)
- Object pronouns are used AFTER action verbs. (The bus left her on the corner.)
- Object pronouns are used AFTER prepositions. (Rick ran after them.)
